InfoResources - Who we are

InfoResources is operated jointly by three Swiss institutions with ample experience in natural resources and international cooperation:

InfoAgrar is an agricultural information service for development cooperation. As a project of the Swiss College of Agriculture, InfoAgrar uses the broad knowlege of the College's experts in its daily work.

Info Service CDE predominantly documents and disseminates information related to environment and natural resources in international cooperation. Info Service CDE is part of the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) of the Institute of Geography, University of Berne, and draws on the rich knowledge and experience of CDE’s expert staff.

Intercooperation disseminates information in relation to its core competences (natural resources management – forestry and agriculture –, rural economy, local governance and civil society) and activities in the field.

InfoResources is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). In order to ensure a broad perspective and an extensive network of expertise, InfoResources collaborates with the following partners in developing countries:

Servicio de Información Mesoamericano sobre Agricultura Sostenible (SIMAS) is a non-profit civil society organization working in the area of democratic management of information and knowledge, developing communication paradigms and facilitating communication process and space in the region of Mesoamerica. Based in Managua, Nicaragua SIMAS works with farmers organizations, civil society organizations, thematic working groups and networks engaged in promotion of sustainable agriculture as a means to reducing poverty and fomenting equity in the rural areas of Mesoamerica.

Centre for Training and Integrated Research in ASAL Development (CETRAD) is concerned with research and training to design strategies for sustainable development, promote land use planning for sustained livelihood and optimal resource use, foster sustainable resource use and management for improved productivity and promote non-farm, non-pastoral enterprises, infrastructure and related services. It is based in Nanyuki, Laikipia District, Kenya.
